Stepping Up recovery program celebrates first male graduates

The Stepping Up Process to End Recidivism (SUPER) held a ceremony for its first male graduates on Oct. 1. The yearlong program provides support services to those with mental health and/or substance use issues after release from the Forsyth County Detention Center, or those who are criminal justice involved.

Forsyth County Public Health will offer free drive-through flu shots in October on Monday-Friday 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., in the parking lot of Hanes Memorial CME Church, 819 N. Highland Ave. (next to the Health Department).

Beginning on Monday, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, Novant Health and the Forsyth County Department of Public Health will begin offering Pfizer COVID-19 booster shots for those who have been fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine for at least six months and are at least 65 years of age or older or in a long term facility, or are over 18 with an underlying condition or at increased risk of exposure due to occupation or institutional setting.
