October's issue of Forsyth County News is out now!
In this month's edition:
- Forsyth Fun Fest: The 5th Annual Fun Fest was held last month at Highland Avenue Park with a job fair, flu shots, kids activities, and more.
- Food and Nutrition Services Changes: Work requirements have changed; recipients can participate in free job training programs through local partners.
- Walk a Mile to Save Our Babies: Last month HHS held a walk to raise awareness for infant mortality with over 200 participants.
- Narcan Available at Libraries: Narcan nasal spray is available at all Forsyth County Public Library branches. Training offered at Clemmons Branch Library on Oct. 7.
- Flu Shots: Free flu shots available at Forsyth County Public Health, 799 N. Highland Ave. No appointment needed.
- Carolina Classic Fair: HHS will be hosting a Diaper Changing and Breastfeeding Station at the fair.
- Diabetes Prevention Classes: Minority Diabetes Prevention Program is offering a free year-long program for pre-diabetic or high-risk individuals.
- Age-Friendly Conference on Oct. 13: Covering senior resources, health, home safety, and more.
- Other highlights include the new Tanglewood Park Clubhouse, $22.5 million collected by CSS employees for local families, a county surplus auction, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and more.
