Men’s Health Week event with free screenings to be held Friday

Forsyth County Department of Public Health, 799 N. Highland Ave, is holding free screenings and an educational session for Men’s Health Week on Friday, June 14.

Novant Health’s Dr. John Card will speak on prostate, colorectal and lung cancer from 10-11:30 a.m. Following the talk, numerous screenings and service providers will be onsite from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Novant Health will provide free screenings including A1c, blood pressure, BMI, waist circumference, cholesterol, triglycerides and blood glucose. Attendees will also be able to sign up for prostate, colorectal and lung cancer screenings with Atrium Wake Baptist and Novant Health.

Forsyth County Social Services staff will be present to provide information on Medicaid Expansion. The Healthy Blue Mobile Unite from Blue Cross Blue Shield and Cologuard will also be onsite.
