Bookmark Art Contest
Aug. 12-Oct. 5
All Forsyth County Public Library Locations
Children of all ages (Preschool-Grade 12) may enter as many designs as they would like. Entry forms are available at all Forsyth County Public Library branches and participating school media centers. Entries may be turned into any library branch or participating school media center by Saturday, Oct. 5 at 5 p.m.

Teen Craft Club
One Thursday a month at 3 p.m.
Aug. 22
Carver School Road Branch Conference Room
Teens are invited to join our monthly craft group. This is a great group to join to meet other crafters and learn to make all sorts of fun projects! We’ll be making pencil holders in August. Supplies will be provided.

Tai Chi at Central
Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
Central Library Auditorium or Lawn (depending on the weather)
Ages 12 and up. Tai Chi is a form of gentle exercise, a method of moving meditation and a means of cultivating health and well-being. Tai Chi is suitable for all ages and abilities so it's never too late to start. Classes will be held in the Central Library Auditorium or outside on the lawn depending on the weather. Solar Gazing
Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
Central Library Lawn
All ages. Get to know the brightest star in our Solar System and have fun doing it! Solar Gazing is an event for the whole family, telescopes, crafts and the Sun as our biggest star! Program by the Forsyth County Astronomical Society.

Mario Kart Tournament
Saturday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m.
Central Library Teen Central
Ages 12-18. Show off your racing skills in this friendly competition. Winners will get small prizes. Waiver required for snacks.

STEM for Teens and Tweens: If Bugs Could Talk
Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 5 p.m.
Central Library Makerspace
Ages 9-18. Students will discover the characteristics of insect communication. Using teamwork and props, students will work in teams to communicate using several methods (touch, sound, sight, and chemical) to imitate insect communication. Presented by North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center. Email Mia Jordan (jordanmc@forsyth.cc) for more information.

Jewelry Making
Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 5:30-7 p.m.
Central Library Makerspace
Ages 15+. Enjoy an evening designing and creating your own beaded jewelry. This program is in collaboration with Art SHAC. Spots are limited. No art experience necessary. For more information or to register for this program, please email darlinvk@forsyth.cc .

Dungeons & Dragons Meetup Group
First and Third Mondays from 3-5 p.m.

Lewisville Multipurpose Room
Recommended for ages 13-17. Have you ever wanted to learn to play Dungeons & Dragons? Are you an experienced player who would like a place to meet up and have adventures? Then join the Lewisville Branch Dungeons & Dragons meetup group! All supplies are provided. Drop in and bring a friend.

Jigsaw Puzzle Contest
Saturday, Aug. 10 from 2-4 p.m.
Recommended for ages 12 and up. Put your puzzling skills to the test with this fun, team-based competition. Teams with up to 4 participants (adults and/or teens) will compete to be the first team to complete a 500-piece puzzle in two hours. The winning team will receive a prize. The completed puzzles will be on display at the Lewisville Branch Library following the event. To register contact the Lewisville Branch at 336-703-2940. STEAM for Teens and Tweens
Second Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m.
Aug. 14

Creative Button Making
Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 4:30 p.m.
Ages 9-18. Come make some pinback buttons with us. Drop in anytime between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and make up to five buttons. All materials will be provided.
