Results available from Forsyth County Community Survey

The results from Forsyth County Government’s second Community Survey can now be viewed on the County Budget Department’s webpage .

The survey, which was first conducted two years ago to get resident feedback, found that Forsyth County shares challenges with other counties across the country with lower ratings on being a good place to find affordable housing, earn a living wage and to educate children than last time. But most residents still have a positive perception of the county as a place to live, work, raise children and retire that is higher than the national and regional averages.

Residents also had an overall satisfaction with County services including libraries, Emergency Services, Sheriff’s Office, Public Health and other departments. Sixty-nine percent of respondents rated Forsyth County’s COVID-19 pandemic response as either “good” or “excellent” with only 11 percent saying that it was “below average” or “poor.”

Top categories for improvement once again included disaster preparedness, communication with the public, the quality of K-12 education buildings, and enforcement of codes and ordinances.

ETC Institute administered the survey by mail and online to a random sample of county residents and received 1,230 completed surveys. ETC presented the results to the Forsyth County Commissioner during their Winter Work Session on Feb. 22.
