Forsyth County to accept funding applications from community groups
Forsyth County Government will accept applications for Special Appropriations funding for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 starting on Monday, Jan. 29. As a part of its annual budget, Forsyth County provides funding for non-profit agencies to provide community services to Forsyth County residents. This funding, called "Special Appropriations," is for a period of one year. Funding requests are evaluated and approved on a year-by-year basis by the Board of Commissioners during the budget process. Applications are due Feb. 26, 2024 at 12 p.m.
- Jan. 29, 2024 – Feb. 26, 2024: Open Application Period
- Early June - Public Hearing on Proposed Budget
- June 6, 2024 - June 27, 2024: Possible Adoption of Budget Ordinance
- July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025: Term of service for all approved programs
Special Appropriations applications will be submitted online at
https://forsyth.cc/special_appropriations.aspx.
The limited budget for appropriations is open to non-profits who provide social, artistic, cultural or economic development services for Forsyth County residents. Emphasis should be on a specific amount requested and on new services that will be provided.
