Residents will have the opportunity to get an update on the construction of Belews Lake Park and potential future construction phases by attending one of two meetings being held Feb. 6 and Feb. 20 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Belews Creek Fire Department, 7675 Belews Creek Road.
Ground was broken by Forsyth County Government on the new park in May 2023. Belews Lake Park is being built on 216-acres of land with nearly 2 miles of lake frontage. The passive park will feature picnic shelters, playgrounds, a comfort station with public restrooms, ADA accessible fishing docks and walking trails. The County acquired the land from Duke Energy for $640,000 using a grant from the State’s Clean Water Management Trust. It is located in the northeastern corner of Forsyth County in an area that currently has no County parks and will serve as a recreational resource to many.
