We had a lot of fun learning about forestry in June! Participants got to learn how to read a compass, identify different types of trees, bugs, and tree diseases, and measure the length and width of trees. They also got to participate in a mock contest that utilized all of that information. Congratulations to all who participated!
Thank you to the NC Forest Rangers and Educators, and our 4-H volunteers who helped teach participants these skills that they can use in their lives and in the NC 4-H Forestry Contest.
Missed out on your chance to join us at this event? Renee Strnad, Extension Forestry Environmental Educator, is hosting a Forestry & Wildlife Field Day on August 21. See this article for more information.
