Dinah Gore 4-H Healthy Food Challenge

North Carolina 4-H is excited to announce the Virtual Dinah Gore 4-H Healthy Food Challenge 2021! This contest challenges an individual or a team of two 4-H members in the same age group to create a dish using a mystery basket of ingredients.

The final dish should highlight the mystery basket ingredients and basic items you have at home. The mystery basket items for 2021 are:

Eggs

Whole wheat loaf bread

Fresh spinach

Fresh tomato

Fresh peaches

Wild card item - Cheese-It Crackers

Individuals or team members must identify and prepare the dish, then make a presentation video about it. One team from the 14-18 age group will be selected to attend the National 4-H Food Challenge in September in Texas.

Teams that are not from the same family should wear masks when filming, but do not have to social distance!

The competition is virtual this year, and contestants must upload a pre-recorded video following the same format as 4-H presentation videos (additional information in the informational packet below). Competitors must be registered in 4-H Online to participate. Age Categories are 8-10, 11-13, and 14-18. The entry deadline is July 12, 2021.
