COVID-19 vaccinations available at Public Health Department and community events

The Forsyth County Department of Public Health has opened up COVID-19 vaccination appointments for next week at the Public Health Department, 799 N. Highland Ave., for anyone age 16 or older.

Vaccinations are free and no ID or insurance is needed. Appointments are available online at Bit.Ly/FCNCCovidVaccine or by calling 336-360-5260 from 8 a.m. -5 p.m. Mon.-Fri. Public Health’s vaccination clinic will be open Thursday 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and next Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Walk-ups are welcome until an hour before closing.

The single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine will be an option while supplies last. The two-dose Pfizer vaccine will be used for all other vaccinations.

Those who received their first dose at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds will still receive their second dose there.

Public Health is also holding several community vaccination events. Walk-ups are being accepted today at Community Mosque, 1419 Waughtown Street, from 9-12 a.m.

Appointments are available and walk-ups will be taken at these upcoming vaccination events:

  • Wednesday, May 12, at Rural Hall Fire Department, 177 Rural Hall Germanton Road, Rural Hall from 10 a.m. 1 p.m. with appointments available at Bit.Ly/ruralhall512 or by calling (336) 969-6856.

  • Saturday, May 15, at Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 2651 Buchanan Street, from 9 a.m.-12 noon with appointments available at Bit.Ly/gfmb515 or by calling (336) 771-7000.
