Family Services will hold a Community Forum on Tuesday, Jan. 29, on a possible Family Justice Center to serve victims of family violence in Forsyth County.
The forum will be held at SECCA (Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art), 750 Marguerite Drive, with a presentation beginning at 8:30 a.m.. A light continental breakfast will be served prior to that at 8 a.m.
Local community leaders and national experts from the Family Justice Center Alliance, a program of the San Diego-based Alliance for HOPE International, will discuss the national Family Justice Center movement. It brings together resources for domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and elder abuse in one place, which includes law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, civil attorneys, therapists, advocates and others.
A planning group has been exploring the creation of a Family Justice Center for the last year. The forum is part of a two-day tour that the team from HOPE International is doing to explore establishing the center.
The public is invited to attend, but seating is limited. Contact Michelle Kline at mkline@familyservicesforsyth.org or (336) 722-8173 to reserve a seat.
