Diane Faison will perform her one-person drama "The Spirit of Harriet Tubman" at Central Library on February 17 at 2 pm. Don't miss this inspiring performance of the life of abolitionist and Underground Railroad worker Harriet Tubman, presented as part of Black History Month.

A native of Winston-Salem, Diane Faison is an artist and a retired educator. After earning her Batchelor's Degree from NC Central University, Diane taught art and art appreciation for over 25 years in North Carolina and Virginia. As a way to make history come alive for her students, Faison extensively researched the life of Harriet Tubman, then wrote and performed the play. She has since done performances at various schools, colleges, churches and retirement homes.
