New Grant Opportunity for Family Farms
The program will award an average of $5,000 to $10,000 but will allow applications up to $15,000 if they can show strong justification. Who is Eligible? Grant applicants should be agriculturally dependent, earning at least 50% of their personal income from their farm operation. Grant proposals should present a new direction or opportunity to diversify, expand or implement new entrepreneurial plans for their farm operations. Former/current tobacco growers or former quota holders receive a higher priority in grant award consideration. Individuals who have previously received grant funds sponsored by the NC Tobacco Trust Fund Commission are not eligible to apply.
