Celebrate Forsyth Creek Week March 15-22

Discover Creek Week!

A full week of activities will provide many opportunities for residents to discover, explore and enjoy local waterways through recreational activities, educational programs, and a volunteer service project.


Special Library Events:


Monday, March 17 at 6:30 at Krankie's Coffee House, join us for a screening of Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a New Land Ethic and talk with the coordinator of the Leopold Foundation. Food trucks will be available if you wish to purchase dinner for the film.


Thursday, March 20 at noon at Barnhills Book Store is the place to be on for a discussion of A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold. If you want to read the book, check your local library for copies to check out.


Library locations will have special programs for children and workshops for adults! Other Creek Week Events include Creek Crawls; Bird Walks; Salem Creek History Walk; Three Operation Medicine Drops in Kernersville, Winston-Salem and Clemmons will help keep pharmaceuticals out of our landfills and wastewater system; rain barrel workshops on Tuesday and Thursday will enable you to recycle water and reduce runoff in our yards; and classrooms in the Creek will introduce school children to the local aquatic systems and all that is involved in a healthy ecosystem.


Who can have fun during creek week? EVERYONE! Movie Buffs, Book Lovers, Birdwatchers, Boy Scouts, Anglers, Sportsmen, Nature Lovers, Teachers, Kids, Moms, Dads, Toddlers, Gardeners, Photographers.
