New Apps Give Access to Catalog and Downloadable Media

Free new apps are bringing our catalog and downloadable media straight to your smartphone or smart device. We’re going mobile to fit your demanding lifestyle. With these apps, you can check on your favorite books, DVDs, and children’s picture books whenever and wherever it’s convenient for you.

Through BookMyne and OverDrive Media Console, choose the app that’s right for your smart device.

BookMyne

• Online catalog mobile access:
  • Search the catalog
  • Renew checked out items
  • Place and cancel holds
  • Check your account
  • Navigate to the Library’s home page
• Runs on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

Our online catalog just got mobile and socially savvy with an iPhone app! BookMyne makes it easier than ever to surf our catalog, check on titles (including bestsellers), place holds, and review your account. All that and more on your small screen, BookMyne is furnished to Library customers by SirsiDynix, the company that provides our integrated library system.

To download and install the BookMyne mobile app, go to the Apple App Store or iTunes and search “Sirsi.” After that, you’ll locate Forsyth County Public Library to get connected.

OverDrive Media Console

• Downloadable media mobile access:
  • Download and read ebooks in EPUB format
  • Download and listen to audiobooks in MP3 or WMA formats
• Different versions run on Apple products (iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch), Android, Blackberry, and Windows Mobile operating systems

The North Carolina Digital Library contains a collection of downloadable audiobooks, ebooks, video, and music for Library customers. OverDrive® is the driving force behind this service and maintains the website and software so that you can browse, checkout, and download anytime you wish.
