RAINDROPS KEEP FALLIN' ON MY SHED

Do you have the backyard blues because of runoff from heavy rain events? Stormwater SMART’s Danica Heflin will be at the Paddison Library on Tuesday March 21 at 10 a.m. to help you learn three simple strategies to control the flow: disconnection (downspout redirection), collection (rain barrels), and naturalization (gardening with native flowers, grasses, shrubs, and trees). These methods make your landscape more resilient during and after heavy storms and help you save money on utilities. You’ll also be helping to improve the water quality in our creeks, streams, and rivers! What better way to join in the celebration of Forsyth Creek Week (March 18 - 26) by attending this event?

Need more motivation? Lucky participants will take home helpful freebies: You could win a rain barrel, mature native plants, wildflower seeds, gardening guides, or a combination of prizes!

This program will be offered on two different dates at the Kernersville and Lewisville library branches. Registration is encouraged but not required. See below for more details.
