Wake Forest Museum of Anthropology Programs at the Lewisville Branch Library

Teens will learn about the importance of kola nuts on Friday, Sept 6 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Lewisville Branch Library. Children will learn about the beautiful beaded crowns of the Yoruba people in West Africa and build their own crown on Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 4:30- 5:30 p.m. at the Lewisville Branch Library. Everyone can learn about the culture of the Igbo people in Nigeria on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 4-5 p.m. at the Lewisville Branch Library.

Walkertown Branch Library is excited to offer a variety of programs for Kids and Teens in September. Kids (and accompanying caregivers) can come to Storytime, dance with us at Music and Movement, or have free coloring sheets! Teens can learn STEAM skills, become volunteers, or come play games. LEGO Book Club

Children share a favorite book that they have read and then build LEGO creations based off of their books. Lego Book Club meets on the third Saturday of the month (except for August, December, and May) from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Lewisville Branch Library.

Flavors of Africa

Sample the cuisine of different African countries at the Lewisville Branch Library on Friday, Sept. 27 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Children and teens will present information and food from their choice of an African country. Everyone is welcome to come to learn about African countries and to sample the flavors of Africa. For children or teens to eat, a parent will need to sign a permission form (this can be signed ahead of time). If you are interested in presenting, please call 336-703-2940.

Storytimes at Rural Hall

Children and their caregivers are welcome to join us each week for storytimes in the Rural Hall Branch Library Auditorium. Toddler Storytime (birth-2 years old) meets every Monday from 11-11:30 a.m. and includes stories, songs, rhymes, and bubbles. Preschool Storytime (3-5 years old) meets every Thursday from 11-11:45 a.m. and includes stories, songs, flannel activities, rhymes, and a coloring activity.
